about
Don’t Wanna Be Here Alone epitomises Elliot’s 2020 writing, drawing heavily on his own life experiences and those of his peers combined with soundbites from a character in a TV drama that resonated strongly with him. Sticking unwaveringly to his musical values, the song centres on its haunting title hook. The single was produced, mixed and mastered by Mikey Ferbrache, with backing vocals by Phoebe Hazzan, at Apocalypse Studios, Guernsey. Elliot’s output remains prolific and the single heralds select live appearances and further releases, including an EP, later this year.
lyrics
I got the feeling
A fear foreboding
Can’t tell you what I saw
Or even how I felt
Don’t care who sees me naked
But if you catch me crying
You better kill the image
Because I’m strong and never dependent on anyone
Such a sad affair
The way you ripped my hair out
From my chest
And marred my head
Now the drugs never hit me the way
That I need them to
Don’t care who sees my body
But if you see my soul
You'd know
Don't wanna be here alone
So don’t wanna be here alone
Got to escape this place
Sometimes time feels like a race
I don't care if you see my bare face
But stay away from my family
So don't wanna be here alone
We’ve all had the feeling in the deepest night
of time passing by
We've all had a feeling as our brother lies that he may never see the daylight
So don't wanna be here alone
